In a savanna called Siikaneva.

A vast plain covered by yellow hay, it looks like savanna. But little chance to see a zebra here, it is a Finnish swamp. A very beautiful one actually. By the way, we should respect the swamp of Finland. It is apparently a matter of pride, the country is named after these swamps.

It is a pleasant 9 km hike to go through Siikaneva and half of it is on wood-plank paths. A step out of the elevated path, and you might find yourself with water up to the thighs. The huge flat swamp is seeded with forest islands, making the landscape stunning. Thanks to Tellu, Ismo and Taiga to make us discover the place.
